A few of our favorite Bahamian lodges including Abaco Lodge, Bair’s Lodge, and Mars Bay have closed for the summer.

In the Bahamas during the month of August & September many of the fishing guides harvest spiny lobster. This time is a perfect time for the lodge staff to prepare for the next group of anglers just waiting their turn to get in on the action.

Here is a little bit of information about a few lodges, to help you choose where you would like to visit next…

Abaco Lodge is situated on a picturesque site overlooking the “Marls of Abaco”.  The Marls Edward Johnston Leisure Time Travel have long been known by well-traveled bone fisherman as one of the most unique and productive fisheries in the Bahamas. The boat dock is less than twenty-five steps from the main lodge. Bair’s Lodge is the place to go is you are looking for lots of shots at fish, great accommodations and sensational food! The lodge fishes primarily for Bonefish and the occasional permit and tarpon. The lodge’s location gives them access to Deep Creek, Little Creek and the famous West Side. The lodge also enjoys some of the most under fished wadeable flats on Andros.

Mars Bay Bonefish Lodge is a small lodge situated on the southeastern tip of Andros that affords anglers a short and easy  skiff ride to pristine flats teeming with unpressured bonefish. There is nothing pretentious about this lodge. The atmosphere is comfortable, laid back and casual. You’ll be fishing areas like Beach Cay, Grassy Creek, Hawks Nest, Jackfish and Water Cays just to name a few.
