Fishermen enjoy Stella Maris fishing year round due to the presence of a warm water current. Stella Maris is one of the best places to learn how to scuba-dive. The Stella Maris Inn gained its fame when it allowed divers around the world to swim amongst the sharks. The Inn has a very good diving program with one of the best dive masters in the Bahamas. Stella Maris also offers daily self-guided snorkeling from shore, or twice weekly by boat free of charge! Stella Maris International Airport (MYLS) is a private, non-towered, airport of entry. The paved runway is 4050 long by 90 feet wide plus shoulders. Stella Maris is remote, quiet, and an excellent location for family and group vacations.
