Spotlight on Belize River Lodge

Peter’s Super Grand Slam (Almost)
On the forth day of the trip, Peter came very-very close to a Super Grand Slam after hooking and landing a tarpon, catching a bonefish, catching a big snook, then hooking a permit, but losing it the a broken hook just as the fish was about to be landed. His third of four permit for the week came the next day.

Quite easily, Ascension Bay and Espiritu Santo Bay are one of the finest saltwater flats fishing destinations in the world. The two bays are located in the heart of the Sian Ka’an National Park which spreads over more than a two thousand square miles, or about 1.3 million acres of wide-open flood plains, tropical dry forest and some of the most gorgeous saltwater flats on the planet.

Andros Island, Bahamas : Bonefish Capital of the World
Andros Island, Bahamas is the largest and least inhabited island of the 700 islands of the Bahamas. Andros is known as the bonefish capital of the world. It is approximately one hundred and eight miles long by forty miles wide. The third largest Barrier Reef in the world runs along the entire length of the eastern coast of Andros.
Tarpon Hatchery Discovered in the Pacific Waters of Costa Rica
Tarpon are mainly found in the Atlantic waters. To stumble upon a tarpon or two in the Pacific waters is unusual, but it does happen. In our visits to Crocodile Bay over the past ten years we heard the stories about anglers catching these mighty fish in the waters near Crocodile Bay Lodge.
