Accommodations
Swain’s Cay offers a variety of hotel rooms and accommodations to suite most tastes and budgets. They will even pick you up from the airport. From ocean-view suites to a duplex apartment for larger parties or families, everyone should be comfortable at this island lodge.
The lodge has a plethora of activities to take part in as well. For those that are not into fishing, enjoy kayaking and observing sea life, or snorkel for a closer experience. The crystal clear waters surrounding Swain’s Cay are perfect for sighting sting rays, bonefish and more. Snorkeling equipment and kayaks are complimentary to guests (single and double person kayaks available). Fully immerse yourself and take a scuba diving trip along the Andros reef. The lodge has USA-Standard equipment to rent and also offers guided tours and lessons. Want to check out the local wildlife? Take a ride on one of the complimentary bikes to explore the island to or take a guided trip and view ospreys, sea eagles, flamingos, dolphins, sharks and more.
Lodging
Choose from a selection of room options; The Twin Garden View Room, Ocean View Suite, Beach Front Suite or Duplex Apartment for larger parties. All rooms come equipped with en-suite bathrooms, furnished patios, air conditioning, and WiFi access.
The duplex apartment is perfect for families or larger parties of anglers, boasting a comfortable lounge with satellite television and a 360-degree terrace with phenomenal views. The duplex apartment features 3 double bedrooms, a lounge with sofas, dining area, kitchenette, air conditioning and a furnished terrace.
The main lodge overlooks the beach and home flat that stretches from the main road to the beach.
Dining
Serving delicious and authentic Bahamian cuisine, the Reefside Restaurant & Bar is where you will enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner if you aren’t on a boat. (They also offer afternoon snacks). For the anglers, a packed cooler lunch is provided. Meals are always freshly prepared with local vegetables, meats and seafood (caught daily). The three-course dinners feature grouper, snapper, Mahi Mahi, wahoo, chicken, pork ribs, pasta dishes and home made desserts. There are vegetarian options available upon request.
Fishing
Swain’s Cay is suited for the BEST fishing in the Bahamas, whether you’re bonefishing, deep-sea fishing or reef fishing! This extraordinary Lodge is uniquely positioned on Mangrove Cay for easy access to ether the South Bight or Middle Bight of Andros. Swain’s Cay local, professional guides know exactly where to go for the winds and tides. This lodge also features a wade-able bonefish flat off of their own private beach. Andros Island is known as the “Bonefish Capital of the World” with hundreds of square miles of shallow, fishable, white sand flats.
Swain’s Cay’s experienced guides run 16′ and 17′ Action Craft and Dolphin Skiffs powered with 75hp Yamahas. All skiffs are equipped with poles, poling platform, rod storage, coolers with ice, and cushioned seats. For those interested in off-shore fishing, you will hop aboard The Real Time. The Real Time is a 24′ Catamaran with twin engines. Offshore spin gear, lures, bait and plugs will be provided, but don’t forget your fly gear.
Rates
The rate for a one week stay is $5,495 per week, per angler based upon double occupancy. Packages include lodging, guided fishing, all meals including fully cooked breakfast, a cooler lunch and gourmet dinners. Transfer to and from the airport or marina, and daily maid service. Not included is airfare, gratuities for guides and staff, terminal tackle, alcoholic beverages and sodas at lodge, Bahamas fishing license, fly fishing equipment and flies, and Bahamian taxes (VAT). Swain’s Cay is a small operation. Availability is extremely limited. Most dates are filled a year in advance. Book early!
