About Leisure Time Travel - Caribbean Fly Fishing Adventure

Dear Friends, Clients and Future Friends:

When we started this travel company more than 30 years ago, we dabbled in many angling destinations. We fished pike and lake trout in Canada and the Northwest Territories, Salmon in Canada, baby tarpon and bones in Venezuela, trout to tarpon in the United Sates, and of course, the major flats species in the Caribbean, including the big three – bonefish, permit and tarpon.

We soon found, although we had a good knowledge in a number of areas, were not the experts due to the fact we could not visit often and stay familiar with the various destinations. In other words, we were becoming “a jack of all trades and a master of none.”
Today, we have reduced our representation to the best all-inclusive lodges, which we think provide the most outstanding service and offer easy access. Primarily focusing on the Bahamas and the western Caribbean, including Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula and Belize. In other words, the lodges we work with will pick you up at the airport, arrange all transfers, provide good accommodation and meals, and of course great guided fishing.

A MAJOR overhaul of our website has been ongoing and we know you will enjoy the look and feel of the new finished product. This is the 7th rendition of our website since 1996.

A little history: Baseball great “Ted Williams” encouraged us to start this business more than 30 years ago. We ended up neighbors on a golf course in Citrus County Florida. We developed a great friendship and spent many years together tying flies and fishing many of the exotic destinations you will find on this website, plus some quality time on the best rivers and pools in New Brunswick, Canada. A little side note: Ted Williams appointed me a a co-trustee of his estate, so he had a lot of trust and faith in me.

One our activities in the 1980’s was to operate Ted Williams White Birch Lodge for three years. The endeavor was not overly profitable, as there are just two short seasons for Atlantic salmon on the Miramichi River, however, it was fun and we met some great people in the process.

And over the thirty years we have operated Leisure Time Travel, we have had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people, some of whom are our very best friends now.

So here we go, off on another great fishing year!
