You have reached Bair’s Lodge Bahamas, featuring bonefishing on the crystal clear flats and mangrove creeks of South Andros Island. If you are ready to visit the Bair’s Lodge Bahamas Bonefishing on South Andros Island, please read on.
Bair’s Lodge Bahamas is located at Little Creek between Kemps Bay and Mars Bay, on South Andros Island.
Andros Island has been the name synonymous with the biggest bonefish, and South Andros has built a reputation over the years as being the location for “Giant” bonefish. Names like Grassy Creek, Deep Creek, Little Creek, Water Cays and the Curley Cut Cays are linked to sight fishing for some of the world’s biggest bonefish. With some of the least fished flats of Andros and access to the fabled West Side, Bair’s Lodge represents the ultimate for sight fishing for big Bahamas bonefishing.
This old time favorite has been under new ownership and management for some time now. Nervous Waters purchased Bair’s Lodge (Formerly Bair Bahama Guest House) and is the same company that owns and operates the world famous Kau Taupen, Villa Maria, Toon Ken, Bella Vista and Pira Lodge (all in Argentina). Nervous Waters acquired Bair’s Lodge as part of a drive to expand their business on an international level.
Accommodations at Bair’s Lodge
After an ambitious remolding program, the “new” Bair’s Lodge accommodates just 12 anglers. In addition to cleaning up the lodge and grounds from “ship to stern,” silent air conditioning units have been added in all bedrooms and the living room plus, all of the bedrooms have private baths. This is one of the nicest and most comfortable fishing lodges in the Bahamas.
New skiffs, with a first class team of guides will provide an exceptional fishing experience. Your fishing schedule can be tailored to suit your needs, though generally a typical day will start with breakfast at 7 am, fishing beginning at 8 and ending between 4 and 5 pm. Picnic lunches and cold drinks are taken to the flats in a cooler by your guide. Like most quality lodges, Bair’s Lodge Bahamas is a strict catch and release fishery.
Anglers will appreciate the fly-tying table and a loaner rod service. Additionally, Bair’s Lodge Bahamas Bonefishing has a fully stocked shop with rods, reels, flies and other necessary fishing equipment, as well as gifts, some flats wear and local crafts.
Bair’s Lodge Bahamas Bonefishing
The lodge fishes primarily for bonefish and occasional tarpon and permit. Ideally located to access Deep Creek, Little Creek, and the famous West Side, the lodge enjoys some of the most under-fished wade-able flats on Andros. Other species encountered include barracuda, jacks, and several species of snapper. Offshore fishing can be arranged seasonally for billfish, wahoo, tuna, and dorado.
Dining at Bair’s Lodge
Meals are beautifully prepared Bahamian specialties concentrating on gorgeous fresh seafood. Fresh Bahamian bread is made daily. The lounge and dining area has a full bar featuring a wide variety of beverages, and there is a nice ocean side deck to relax on after a long day on the flats.
