Bairs Lodge Andros Island Bahamas

This old time favorite has been under new ownership and management for some time now. Nervous Waters purchased Bair’s Lodge (Formerly Bair Bahama Guest House) and is the same company that owns and operates the world famous Kau Taupen, Villa Maria, Toon Ken, Bella Vista and Pira Lodge (all in Argentina). Nervous Waters acquired Bair’s Lodge as part of a drive to expand their business on an international level.

After an ambitious remolding program, the “new” Bair’s Lodge accommodates just 12 anglers. In addition to cleaning up the lodge and grounds from “ship to stern”, silent air conditioning units have been added in all bedrooms and the living room plus, all of the bedrooms have private baths. This is one of the nicest and most comfortable fishing lodge in the Bahamas.

New skiffs, with a first class team of guides will provide an exceptional fishing experience. Your fishing schedule can be tailored to suit your needs, though generally a typical day will start with breakfast at 7 am, fishing beginning at 8 and ending between 4 and 5 pm. Picnic lunches and cold drinks are taken to the flats in a cooler by your guide. Like most quality lodges, Bair´s Lodge is a strict catch and release fishery.

Anglers will appreciate the fly-tying table and a loaner rod service. And, Bair’s has a fully stocked shop with rods, reels, flies and other necessary fishing equipment, as well as gifts, some flats wear and local crafts.

The lodge fishes primarily for bonefish with and occasional tarpon and permit. Ideally located to access Deep Creek, Little Creek, and the famous West Side, the lodge enjoys some of the most under-fished wadeable flats on Andros. Other species encountered include barracuda, jacks, and several species of snapper. Offshore fishing can be arranged seasonally for billfish, wahoo, tuna, and dorado.

Meals are beautifully prepared Bahamian specialties concentrating on gorgeous fresh seafood. Fresh Bahamian bread is made daily. The lounge and dining area has a full bar featuring a wide variety of beverages, and there is a nice oceanside deck to relax on after a long day on the flats.
Bair´s represents the benchmark in terms of quality guiding, delicious food, ideal accommodations and courteous hospitality.
