The Most Diverse Fishery in the Seychelles
Farquhar Atoll is the southernmost atoll in the Seychelles chain of islands, lying just over 435 miles to the southwest of the main island of Mahé. It is renowned for its pristine waters and diverse marine life.
A premier destination for fly-fishing devotees seeking the ultimate saltwater fishing adventure, the Farquhar Atoll consistently produces some of the finest saltwater fly-fishing on the planet. The large variety of saltwater species on Farquhar provides the angler a perfect flats-fishing experience.
Farquhar’s fishing season starts in October, when the bird-eating GTs come alive, and extends through March.
The primary flats species include various trevallies, including Giant Trevally, bonefish, triggerfish, bluefin trevally, barracuda, Indo-Pacific permit, napoleon wrasse, bohar snapper, and many more.
Farquhar is only one of two fisheries in the Seychelles where anglers can consistently target bumphead parrotfish on the flats.
The Farquhar Lodge can accommodate up to 10 anglers per week. Visitors are accommodated in three comfortable duplex-style guesthouses comprising six air-conditioned rooms with en-suite bathrooms featuring both indoor and outdoor showers. There is full housekeeping with daily laundry service included.
