Here you will have a chance to enjoy the charm and hospitality of the Bahamian people, calm waters and cooling trade winds, and an astonishing variety and abundance of game fish.

About the Resort

Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort Bahamas is located on the northwest side of Long Island which lives up to its name, with a length of 60 miles and an area of 230 sq. miles. Long Island is not only long, it is also narrow. The island is not more than 4 miles at its widest point with two very distinct coasts. The west side is mostly soft white beaches and mangrove flats while the eastern shore consists of rocky cliffs that descend abruptly into the Atlantic Ocean.

Described by Christopher Columbus as “the world’s most beautiful island.” He made first landfall here in 1492 and not from the lodge is a huge monument that marks the spot where Columbus came ashore.

The lodge has nine beautiful villas decorated with soothing tropical colors. Each roomy villa is adorned with ornate woodwork, a screened veranda with rattan lounge chairs, fancy white pickled wood ceilings, smooth marble floors throughout, and nice quality furniture. Some of the Villas have a second bedroom and can comfortably sleep two to four people. And most important, all rooms are within 60 feet of perfect pure white sand beaches laid out in the sun.

Accommodations

Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort Bahamas also offers spacious bungalows designed in the classic Bahamian style. Each bungalow boasts a private veranda with breathtaking views of picture-perfect sunsets.

Step out onto the boardwalk for a romantic stroll while being caressed by gentle Caribbean trade winds.Flowering bougainvilleas and jasmine trees surround your private bungalow and fill the air with the lush fragrances of the Bahamas. The bungalows are available with either two queen beds or one king bed. Also available are larger bungalows with two queen beds and a side room with two twin beds, making these rooms perfect for a family of four. Each bungalow is steps away from the water and contains cool Italian tile floors, air conditioning, coffee maker, hair dryer and ceiling fans. Bungalows are also equipped with small refrigerators and personal safes.

Dining

The food is excellent. You should have no complaint here. You will enjoy the succulent delicacy of cracked conch to the indescribable sweetness of guava duff. What more can we say. There is an abundance of staff. The service is good. And the water is very drinkable purified as it comes from a reverse osmosis system large enough to supply ten lodges.

Fishing

This is one of the few lodges that offer flats, reef, and deep sea fishing which is one of the resort’s specialties. Bonefishing is from skiffs which are used for the deeper flats and by wading the hard flats if that’s your preference.

And for deep sea fishing the lodge has a real beauty, a 31-foot Bertram, fully loaded and ready to go. The price to fish is very reasonable and the lodge supplies all the tackle, even fly rods and wading boots. All the equipment is maintained in excellent condition.

Other Activities

Non-fishing activities include sunbathing, scuba diving, snorkeling in very protected waters, bird watching, kayaking, and for those interested there are day trips available by boat to secluded coves and caves near the lodge. There are some nice toys there for your use as well, including a windsurfer, Hobie cat, and bicycles to explore the island.

Plan your escape soon. This unspoiled jewel in the sun is the Bahama’s best kept secret (for now!). Quality equipment, experienced guides, and great accommodations will ensure you a memorable vacation. Just phone or E-mail us, we will be happy to arrange your stay.
