Getting to Aguila De Osa Inn Costa Rica
Part of the charm of Aguila de Osa is that it can only be reached by boat or sea plane. The most common way of arriving is by taking a 45 minute scheduled Travel air flight from San José to Palmar Sur, a short taxi ride to Sierpe and by boat to the Inn.
This final leg of your journey consists of a 25 mile boat ride, 21 miles along Rio Sierpe, viewing the mangrove forest, and an additional four miles on the beautiful Pacific. During the boat ride you will discover the Sierpe-Terraba Mangrove Reserve, a 54,000 acre reserve, the largest in Costa Rica. Often you will see White Faced Monkeys, Howler Monkeys, Caymans, and a large variety of birds and other wildlife.
Situated on a high bluff overlooking the Aguitas river with panoramic views of Drake Bay the Aguila de Osa Inn offers the finest in fishing, hiking, diving, and dining. Guests also enjoy kayaking, horseback riding, beach combing or just hanging out in a hammock. Enjoy nature at its finest and hospitality at its best.

Sport Fishing
The challenge and excitement of some of the world’s best big game fishing awaits you at Aguila de Osa Inn. Over 40 I.G.F.A. records have been set within 80 nautical miles from our hotel including sailfish, black, blue, and striped marlin, yellow fin tuna, wahoo, cubera snapper, Spanish and sierra mackeral, roosterfish and more. Aguila itself holds five world-fishing records. The Aguila de Osa Inn has the reputation of being a fisherman’s paradise.
Our new Palm Beach cold-molded sport fishing boats are powered by Caterpillar 3116 turbo diesels. We carry a full range of Penn International and Shimano reels in all weight classes, for the fly fisherman we specialize in Billy Pates fly reels and Sage rods. Our professional captains (all English speaking) and crew are anxious to be part of your record-breaking vacation.
The cost for a full day (9 hours) of fishing, 1-4 people, is $1,050.00.
The cost for a half day (5 hours) of fishing, 1-4 people, is $600.00
