The new Mayazul Lodge located at Ascension Bay Mexico is now open!

This wonderful new luxury lodge is located on the north side of Ascension Bay in the sleepy fishing village of Punta Allen within the Sian Ka’an biosphere reserve.

If you want to go there give us a call, we have visited Ascension Bay and Espiritu Santo Bay forty-seven times since 1990. This is a prime location for Ascension Bay Flats Fishing.

Mayazul Lodge is small by design, intimate, eclectic, and elegant, and so near the ocean you will sleep soothed by the sound of rustling palms and waves.

The lodge uses 23-foot traditional Mexican Pangas that will accommodate two anglers and two guides comfortably. Each boat is equipped with 40/60 horsepower Yamaha outboards and is constructed with a forward casting deck, tandem passenger seats, rod storage for six rods and poling platform. Mayazul Lodge Yucatan accesses one of the finest saltwater flats’ fisheries in the world. Ascension Bay has a rare combination of environmental ingredients which create the ideal foundations for an abundance of wildlife. Nestled in the Sian Ka’an Biosphere, a vast international wildlife park that spans some 1.3 million acres, Ascension Bay spans approximately 170,000 of those acres, has been protected from commercial fishing and development.  When conditions are right, the angler can cast to bonefish, permit, barracuda, tarpon, jacks, cubera snapper, mutton snapper, snook, sharks, and several different reef species in a single week of fishing.
