Belize’s first fly-fishing-only lodge, founded by Lincoln Westby and his wife Perline, is back and better than ever. Sitting on the same plot of sand as it did in 1997 but manned by a new owner, Bill Poston. Blue Horizon Lodge is one of the oldest, most historic lodges in Belize.
Fun Fact: Lincoln Westby is STILL a legendary permit guide and recently turned 80 years old working at the lodge!

“They both knew there was a better way to operate a permit fishing lodge that focused on fishing the best flats, during the most favorable tides. After 
years of working for other fishing lodges, Lincoln and Perline took their secret sauce to create an intimate fishing lodge for devoted permit anglers. Their goal was to create memories of great fishing while enjoying all the creature comforts a traveling angler would expect… great food, comfortable accommodations, hospitable staff, and the best permit fishing anywhere! Their legendary lodge was the talk of the permit community for decades.”
“They built their ideal fishing lodge on Northeast Caye because of the proximity to the best permit fishery in the world.” Due to the prime location of the lodge, their guides are the first boats on the flats each day, arriving hours before the competition. They say that it is common for Blue Horizon Anglers to have already landed a permit before the first boats from the mainland even arrive.
Blue Horizon has been completely redesigned while still honoring the heritage of Westby’s original lodge. The Lodge has been rejuvenated with many luxury elements while still holding onto its history. During construction, much of the old lodge/cabins were salvaged and have now been incorporated into new furniture and décor. Returning visitors should be able to recognize remnants of the old lodge still hanging around.
This 5 Cabana get-away has a maximum of 10 guests so anglers will never feel crowded. Completely refurbished, the cabanas feature ice cold ac, boiling hot showers, 2 full sized beds and a full
bathroom with all the fixings. The island also offers wireless internet during your stay for cellular service is limited. Wi-Fi calling, emailing, internet browsing, texting, social media, and even high-speed streaming of live TV and movies is standard.
